Day 7: Friday (Departure and return to Bavaria)
It’s time to say good bye. And say “Thank you” to all of the club member who joined this event. It was wonderful to get in touch with you, having fruitful talks and some nice sunny days together.
I’d like to invite all of you (also the club member which did not joined this event) to come to South Germany to spend maybe your holiday for one or two weeks. I’m sure some of you will follow my call maybe in 2016. In this case please let me know as early as you can when and how long you like to come so that everything can be arranged.
And I can give you the promise, we will come back to one of your next event maybe in one of the next years.
The time passed to quick and was to short, but nevertheless it was fantastic.
When the first member started to leave the Hotel in the morning, the sky opened his gate and sent rain to Lyndhurst. So Tony, thanks for the sunny days.
Most of the Austin drivers were driven away when we completed the loading of our Austin. Mostly wet we helped to pull the Austin of our technical specialist (2 times) because he could not start his engine in a normal way.
Then the time came to say “Good bye”, Auf Wiedersehen” und “Ciao” to Tony and Pat, Richard and Jane, Tony and Rebecca and all other which where there.
We had to reach our ferry and we had to take the coastal route for avoiding to stand in traffic because of the coming Bank Holiday.
With the Austin on the trailer we reached the ferry just in time, the weather in Dover was no longer rainy and we were standing in the first position of our row to enter the ferry to Calais.
At half past 7 german time (it’s half past 6 british time, time for the next dinner beer) we left the ferry at Calais.
With only 2 tankstops we arrived our homebase at half past 4 in the morning, knowing that our bed is waiting for us.
In the afternoon we were relaxed enough to unload the Austin and push him into his garage.
The Clutch is still waiting for a repair (If the repair is done, depending when i will receive the needed spare part, i will write a short update for you in the club magazine).
This day was rainy and I made only some photos of our departure, the ferry and the arrival in Bavaria.
Some of them you can see here.
