Classic car tour to the Isle of Wight 2017 – Over the isle
On Sunday, after a Capuccino, Coffee, Tea and some cake we had the chance to take place on the rear seat of a vintage car and enjoy a wonderful tour around the isle. My wife and myself took place in the Austin 12/6 Open Tourer of Mike. Thorsten and Gislinde were sitting in the white Alvis.
After a stop for viewing the hisoric trial racer we changed the cars. Thorsten and Gislinde now in Mike’s Austin and we are in the Alvis. Passing very small roads we reached after a while the Buddle Inn near Niton on the south cost of the IOW.
We had some live music and a good meal and early in the afternoon we entered again the classic cars. The 2.nd Austin had left our tour and a Riley Monaco joined. Silvia and Gislinde took the Riley and Thorsten and myself choose Mike’s Austin.
We made a short stop at the end of St. Catherines Rd. for a small walk along the cliff with a wondeful view to St. Catherines Lighthouse and then drove back to Old Smithy.
Having a wonderful day we had to say good bye to Mike but we would see him on Monday again because we had to see his other Austins and check he has some usaable spareparts in his garage for us.
It was a lovely day with very friendly club member and a lot of vintage cars.
